Question: Do you think Sears or Home Depot installs your roofs or anything else?

Answer: NO... companies such as Diamond Exteriors (Sears) or Installed Products (Home Depot) are sub-contracted by Sears and Home Depot to market rooting, siding, garage doors, windows and anything else they carry. THEY ARE NOTHING BUT SALESMEN! Salesmen who know absolutely nothing about anything except for how to sell. They most often oversell, over-price the service and under specify the project. What you end up with is an expensive project that did not end up as you thought it would.

Question: if Diamond and Installed Products sells the services for Sears and Home Depot, who then actually installs the roof?

Answer: Could be anybody... even your next dour neighbor... the criteria for installing roofing for these companies is simple;
1. Have Insurance
2. Equipment and Truck

Notice we didn't mention experience or reputation...
if you think we are wrong, start your own roofing sub-contractor business, get a truck and some equipment and call them to get on their sub-contractor list...

Question: How do we know this?

Answer: We have been actively pursued for years by these companies and others to do their work within a given region. We don't do any of their work for one simple reason; they charge the customer unreasonable high costs and pay the sub-contractors very little. The costs of marketing, free estimates, sales commissions and then the roofer are stretched too far. The actual installer (subcontractor roofer} is getting paid by the piece, and being paid so poorly, that they have to rush everything to make a buck. The end result, Sears, Home Depot and the Salesmen make very good money (and more if you financed) and the roofer barely gets any in comparison to the work done. The customer ends up with a rushed project usually resulting in poor workmanship. (in case any of you Sears and Home Depot people want to dispute this, we have documented cases where we have repaired your messes)

Question: Why do people hire Sears or Home Depot?

Answer: our opinion is;
1. Convenience of free in-home estimates (we do the same)
2. Trust in a big name (we have been around 20 years and most work is warranted by the manufacturers because we are certified, so even if we go out of business, the manufacturer covers the warranty left with another certified contractor)
3. Financing ... financing... financing... probably the biggest reason... we find that these companies estimate the roofing 2 -1 and higher above ours.

WE HAVE FINANCING ALSO !! Why would you hire Sears or Home Depot now that you know the truth?
