Frances H Schiappa
My "mom" will be best
remembered as a very loving, self -sacrificing, and hard working
single mother. "Frannie", as she was better known
to everyone, was dedicated everyday to my welfare as a child
and as a young adult. I could always count on her support and
attendance in everything I undertook.
Having grown up in a home for
orphaned children in Newport, Rhode Island, my mother worked
two jobs, sometimes three, her entire life to get ahead. Her
ambition and hard work was rewarded with her being able to purchase
a two bedroom home by herself for she and I to enjoy. It was
at home that she spent her most treasured time. My mother's
favorite passing of time was spent gardening, improving our
home and sewing. Outside of our home and prior to her *death,
my mother had found companionship with Mr. Ralph Anderson and
was hoping to make a future with him.
The picture you see above has
been hanging in my office since I started CCR&S twenty years
ago. My home office is where I feel she would be most at home
and provide the most inspiration to my family and l on a daily
basis.
Perhaps you may remember my
mother from working at Clausins in Falmouth, National Bank of
Wareham, Cals Caper, Tweedy & Barnes, Cranberry Corporation,
May Optical, and the Elks of Wareham.
I miss her dearly and think
of her daily. It was her skills of administration and organization,
that along with her undying love, that were her greatest gifts
to me. Today, she would be the grandmother of three, one of
which bares her name. Although she is departed long ago, she
continues today to be the driving force of my conscience to
aspire to greater achievements as a person, a father, a husband
and a businessman. Without her guidance the first twenty-one
years of my life, I would not be where I am today... I owe everything
I have and everything that I am to her.
With ever lasting love, your
son...

Emo R Schiappa
My "dad" will be best
remembered as a very loving and hard working self-employed mason.
"Moe", as he was better known to everyone, was a dedicated
father and friend to everyone who knew him.
Having grown up in Wareham, MA,
my father worked as a mason his entire life. For over twenty
years my father was self employed with a partner, Mr. Elmo Ferioli.
Together they were known as Emo and Elmo. Their mason work was
legendary in the area stretching at the time from New Bedford
to Hyannis, particularly Wings Neck in Pocassett, MA.
My father's favorite passing
of time was spent working on his boats, sitting at Tempest Knob,
fishing, gardening and pizza and friends at the old Knotty Pine
Restaurant (Zeadeys today).
The picture you see above has
been hanging in my office since I started CCR&S twenty years
ago. My home office is where I feel he would be most at home
and provide the most inspiration to my family and I on a daily
basis.
Like my mother, I miss him dearly
and think of him daily. Today, he would be the grandfather of
three, one of which bares his name. Although he is departed
long ago, the time spent on the water and in the garden shall
be cherished forever.
